Family welfare major is focused on teaching family resource management and expert knowledge of the consumer, child, and family necessary for improving the quality of family life in the individual, family, and community contexts, and providing a systematic curriculum for training and re-educating the growing number of home welfare professionals (healthy family supporters, home welfare workers, family living educators, family counselors, consumer counselors, and child care teachers [courses in other departments are available as well]).

Food and nutrition major focuses on providing a curriculum through which students can systematically acquire and apply knowledge, and learn methods to offer a scientific diet and enhance the nutrition and health of individuals, organizations, and communities. We strive to train and re-educate food nutrition experts (nutritionists, food engineers) who can understand, practice, and teach specialized subjects such as food science, nutrition, and group meals.

Apparel and fashion major focuses on training professionals who can engage in various occupations required by the fashion industry through the systematic acquisition of various forms of knowledge from across apparel studies. We also provide fashion industry workers with opportunities to retrain to adapt to recent social and technological changes and to learn subjects they need to obtain a license.
